Introduction

The Dutch have Buienradar - Sicilians now have Etna Alert. Receive realtime notifications whenever the Etna's activity intensifies or an eruption occurs.

Etna Alert is done by initiative of Studio Toffolo. The platform started by simply reading out an official graph published by the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, and turning that into an e-mail notification.

Nowadays the platform is a lot bigger: including a website with various sources, partners, and a branding done inhouse. The goal remains the same: inform people as realtime as possible on the current state of Europe's most active vulcano.
